Just when you think you know who works for whom...
Boeing, Lockheed Martin To Team For Small Diameter Bomb
Defense Daily 09/29/05

Boeing [BA] and Lockheed Martin [LMT] will announce this morning a teaming agreement for the Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) Increment II program for the Air Force and Navy, Boeing said yesterday.

The partnership will be announced less than a year since Lockheed Martin filed a protest over awarding of the Phase II contract to Boeing.

The issue surfaced in February when the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released its recommendations regarding a Nov. 10, 2004, protest filed by Lockheed Martin concerning the award of an Air Force contract for the SDB to Boeing.

The SDB contract was awarded to Boeing in 2002.
This is good news for both Boeing and Lockheed. Since they are working together, now they both get some business, as they will likely win the new contract. Good news for engineers in both houses.
