People seem to forget that the only current methods to break up a riot effectively are lethal. Methods which are not lethal are better, but they must be effective. Rubber bullets, tear gas, sticks, water cannon...effective?... vs. microwaves...effective?

I would think the microwave method would put more fear into people than the brute force non-lethal methods. Not being able to see the pain coming has its psychological effect.

However, I agree it is an interesting question: How will the target move away? Unless the pain is not debilitating, I guess they would just move, but I'd like to see the targets of this weapon to see how they react.
