As double-digit inflation in health care siphons more and more cash from
old-line companies with generous benefits, big investors are growing
wary.
The market seems to be starting to worry about the benefits some larger companies are offering their employees. With a global economy, many companies will probably try to get rid of benefits such as pensions, and medical care. Employees will not be happy, but what can they do? Pensions will be the first to go, and some companies have already done so (e.g., IBM, HP).
