The goal of the joint DARPA/Air Force Falcon Task 2 program is to develop and validate, in-flight, hypersonic technologies. These technologies include durable hightemperature materials, thermal protection systems, advanced guidance, navigation and control, efficient aerodynamic configurations, and innovative propulsion concepts. The Falcon program will develop these technologies in a spiral development fashion concluding with multiple flight demonstrations in phase III.
